It is astutely and honestly stated in The Forum of the Arlington Institute, that "humanity will face an imminent, global shock of fundamental proportions as one-by-one, basic systems upon which we are dependent for modern life are assailed", that "the central issue is the existence of accelerating and converging trends that point towards an unprecedented system shock that is already coming into view", and that "these looming events are but symptomatic of a far deeper, evolutionary transition that our species is undergoing that will include basic shifts in consciousness and new levels of enlightenment".
It is just as logically asserted, that "this emergent world will necessarily represent a new paradigm", and that "by definition, the new world that evolves will not work like the present one. Accordingly, the most fundamental mindset and perspectives that support the present worldview will be rapidly replaced by a new intellectual framework - a framework that will be compatible with the new way of living that will be required by the dramatically new environment".
The key towards the solution of the problem of the actual planetary predicament is by The Arlington Forum very appositely presented quotation from Albert Einstein: "No problem can be solved from the same level of consciousness that created it." It also states the problem in its solution, because the overwhelmingly great majority of the public, those of the lower level of consciousness who have created the problem, have never accepted and would never accept through their own judgement the thoughts originating from high levels of consciousness.
As the prevention of a cataclysmic event and the changing - no, metamorphosing! - the ruling human social, political, religious, scientific, economical, ecological and moral worldview and mentality into that of a harmonious constituent of a planetary life-community would exceed the greatest scientific invention and progress, it is pertinent to quote also the Physicist Mano Singham: "No great scientific advancement has ever been made by anyone whose thinking has remained kosher. The problem is, the intelligentsia is dominated by danger zone IQ holders (125-140), a species capable of enough reason to be useful in maintaining an accepted model, but utterly useless in formulating new ones. Good stewards make crappy iconoclasts. It takes a solid paradigm inventor to shake things up. Given some years after any old model is replaced with a better new model, the stewards defend the new model as rapidly as they defended the old one."
To this I am adding still another famous quotation from Albert Einstein: "Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I am not sure about the universe."
The ability to formulate any "reliable method" is the function of the scope of sensory and intuitive perception, intellect and creativity, which are highly individual qualities, covering a rather wide spectrum even within the academic communities, for whom only sensory perception exists, and "explanations that cannot be based on empirical evidence are not a part of science", as clearly stated on the website of the U.S. National Academy of Sciences. Both intuitive perception - the content of expanded consciousness - and comprehension through logical mental processes are the functions of the intellect. The intellectual spectrum of the species Homo sapiens spreading between IQ50 and IQ220, with IQ100 as the mean, no generalizations can be applied. According to scientific studies made between the populations of developed nations, well above 90% cannot think but in terms of effects; only a fraction is capable of abstract reasoning and has the ability to conceptually connect thought processes.
The scope of sensory perception and thus information-bank of any specialist, while it may be very intensive in the direction of the specialization, is of such a very narrow spectrum, and his general worldviews so limited and ossified, that renders them unusable in an all-involving mental process. As Noam Chomsky has put it, "On the ordinary problems of human life, science tells us very little, and scientists as people are surely no guide. In fact they are often the worst guide, because they often tend to focus, laser-like, on their professional interests and know very little about the world."
Considering that any new paradigm-inventor would have to stand up with his ideas against an unimaginable inertial resistance of social, political, religious, scientific, economical, ecological and moral worldview and mentality, he would have to possess, in addition to the mentioned high mental qualities, such power of conviction and moral strength as to be able to withstand their consequences.
What faces the man, that individual of higher level of consciousness and high creative and intellectual faculties, who perceives in its entirety the global predicament, intends to prevent the imminent global shock of fundamental proportions, and plans a new course for a more evolved human species within the planetary life? He faces a world dominated by commerce, politics and instituted religions, united on the proposition, that what is to be promoted and preserved in this runted species is the flat-foot - in body, mind and spirit - knowing well that from small followers no great thoughts or manifestations can arise, but for that so much more bovine subservience.
And exactly this flatfoot in body, mind and spirit is what western, and particularly American societies are proliferating through their educational systems, as can be read in John Taylor Gatto's prise-winning book, The Underground History of American Education:
"The secret of commerce, that kids drive purchases, meant that schools had to become psychological laboratories where training in consumerism was the central pursuit. . . The truth is that America's unprecedented global power and spectacular material wealth are a direct product of a third-rate educational system, upon whose inefficiency in developing intellect and character they depend. If we educated better we could not sustain the corporate utopia we have made. Schools build national wealth by tearing down personal sovereignty, morality, and family life. It was a trade-off."
With this target "We have created an industrial order geared to automatism, - as was pointed out by Lewis Mumford - where feeblemindedness, native or acquired, is necessary for docile productivity in the factory; and where a pervasive neurosis is the final gift of the meaningless life that issues forth at the other end. … Today our best plans miscarry because they are in the hands of people who have undergone no inner growth. Most of these people have shrunk from facing the world crisis and they have no notion of the manner in which they themselves have helped to bring it about. Into every new situation they carry only a fossilized self."
The struggle for equalization, massification, internationalization, globalization and centralization, and against upright morality and family life, inaugurated by Marx and metastasised by the communo-socialist sub-species, is thus being perpetuated now by the so-called western democracies, misbranded as "advanced civilizations", through the ego- and clique-centrism of the exponents of their organised systems of science, religion and education, under the cajoling but deceiving dictum of "social justice and nation-building". Thus the "terrible organizers" of mainstream science work, in the service of this Zeitgeist, by promoting materialistic tenets about a purpose- design- and causeless, purely mechanistic blind-chance universe, removing with it purpose, moral values and responsibility from particular and social reality, while religious orthodoxy, by insisting on the literal truth of mythological fables that contradict all quotidian knowledge and reason, discredits even its own spiritual philosophies; both serving, by using misguided education, the short-term-interests of commercio-politics, against the long-term-interests of the present and future life of this planet, and consequently also of the evolved human generations.
Let us look once more on the quoted statement of Einstein in the light of the above considerations. Who are the ones who have created the problem, and what is their level of consciousness? It would be easy to put the blame on the leaders of commerce, politics and religions as the misguiders of "innocent" humanity, forgetting that they have built their power on the envy, greed, lust, aggressivity, arrogance, inertia and ignorance of the overwhelming majority of this species, defined as the silent majority of bovine masses, regardless of their poverty or affluence. Their orientation, that characterizes also their worldview and mentality, defines their consciousness as incapable to expand beyond their own little beings, and their anthropocentrism originates from and is the expression of their egocentrism. This signifies that neither the originating thoughts nor the foundation elements of the New Planetary Era - the Era of Aquarius of Planetary Consciousness - that gives equal consideration to all life-manifestations on the Planet, can have their roots in the actual human masses and their mainstream intelligentsia.
On the other hand, the individual, who's consciousness expands far beyond the self-imposed limits of his morphologically similars and perceives the Universal Life in much broader perspective, is a powerfully self-expressed dissident in proportion to the scope of his consciousness, creativity and intellect. How powerfully a dissident, a nonconformist, a rebel to the actual social, political, religious, scientific, economical, ecological and moral worldview and mentality is prevented to express himself on a wider forum, only those few individuals, to whom all the above mentioned positive characteristics are attributable, can tell.
How this, many thousands to one relationship, will resolve the problem, is a foregone conclusion. While the article of the Arlington Forum very appositely states, that "this emergent world will necessarily represent a new paradigm", and that "by definition, the new world that evolves will not work like the present one", it rescinds it with the proposition, that "Yet principles, policies, and programs are all dependent upon a more fundamental intellectual foundation that is described by the very essence of how we understand life and our interaction with it. The answers to the most basic human questions will completely inform all of the downstream principles, policies, and programs that flow from them."
With this latter statement the article utterly ignores that the fundament of the present predicament is exactly "the very essence of how we understand life and our interaction with it", all built upon social and religious brainwashing, and most decidedly not "upon a more fundamental intellectual foundation". It is this "very essence" that must pass through a metamorphosis. A metamorphosis, and not a comfortable, gradual transition that suits, or even fulfils everybody's favourite lifestyle. The question does not turn around how "we [the great majority of the actual human species] understand life", or are brainwashed into understanding it, but what Life really is. Not "the answers to the most basic human questions" are to be found, but the answers to the most basic planetary questions. A crawling caterpillar is unable to conceive flying, or to plan or foresee its future; and only by going through a metamorphosis - a change of mentality involving the whole structure and mode of life, where all, except the central nervous system breaks down into its basic elements, and is reconstructed into a higher, more complex psycho-physical being - will it be able to, instead of crawling, fly.
The same obligatory confusion is practiced by The Earth Charter, a self-appointed "authoritative synthesis of values, principles, and aspirations that are widely shared by growing numbers of people, in all regions of the world", which, while admitting in its preamble, that "the dominant patterns of production and consumption are causing environmental devastation", and that "an unprecedented rise in human population has overburdened ecological and social systems", suggests with not one word in its principles that production and consumption, and particularly the human reproduction should be drastically reduced, restricting the latter even to eugenics. It states that its "principles are also based upon contemporary science, international law, and the insights of philosophy and religion", also utterly ignoring that the fundaments of the present predicament are exactly the "insights of contemporary philosophy and religion".
The same way as "No problem can be solved from the same level of consciousness that created it." (Einstein), also "No problem can be solved based upon the same insights and worldviews that have created it."
"The principles of the Earth Charter reflect extensive international consultations conducted over a period of many years", … and "has been formally endorsed by over 2,400 organizations, including global institutions such as UNESCO and the World Conservation Union (IUCN)", because all these consultations and all these organisations represent the mainstream, "the same level of consciousness that created it."; and that is good-stewardly upholding it, I may add.
Considering the profound seriousness of the situation, the Earth Charter, together with the great many other officious stabs "our species is actually beginning to produce .. in many different places", is but another generation of a diarrhoea of imperatives of empty, naïve platitudes without any practical substance, and, consequently, without the slightest induction to any particular or communal action. They are the éclatant examples of the impotence of the lower levels of consciousness. A conscientious observer must even come to the sad conclusion that their intention is to maintain the status quo and not to change it, and are only faking the try.
As a reminder, or as some food for thought, I want to add,
that "Homo sapiens" is a terminus tecnicus for a biological species (just like is, for instance, "Cucurbita pepo"), and is not a natural life-unit;
that the next natural life-unit - holon of a higher order - after an individual organism is the ecological community (symbiotic organism) it constitutes, and not a conglomeration with its similars;
that the "pyramid of numbers" in this planet's limited environment restricts its human population to a small fraction of its present number;
that the species Homo sapiens is experiencing an evolutionary split, due to the differences in levels of consciousness and intellect;
that the driving force of evolution is competition, is adversity, is superior mental and physical qualities, and not sloppy cajoling and the pig-pan;
and primarily, while repeating it already for over two decades, that
the Earth does not belong to man, man belongs to the Earth, and that
the task does not involve the creation of circumstances that are needed to build a homogenous 'Homosphere' out of an unruly conglomeration whatever that may cost to our Planet, but the creation of circumstances that are needed to reinstate our Planet into a healthy life-community with a spiritually motivated, mentally productive, ethical and equilibrated, and physically healthy and active human species as an integral part and in harmony with that life-community, whatever that may cost to an unruly conglomeration.
The degeneration of humanity has created the problems, the degenerated humans with their cockeyed worldviews are the problem, and a healthily thinking humanity is the solution. Consequently, the task of those who honestly intend to make at least an effort, must be based on the general recognition of the fact, that the Planet is suffering from the exploitive actions of an overwhelmingly parasitic species, which has lost its organismic function within its life-community, which is a "major ecological community", and took increasingly more and more advantage of each other and of the rest of the planetary life, disturbing its dynamic equilibrium, reducing the Planet's life-force and reversing its evolutionary trend to the degree as to endanger its capacity to support higher life-manifestations, including Homo sapiens itself. But try to explain this to some cancer-tissue.
None of these thoughts is new. The first scientific warnings came a century ago and were accelerating during the middle of the last one. But those who had the right vision and the strength of conviction have expressed their disgust over its development even long before that:
"Leave this hypocritical prating about the masses. - wrote Ralph Waldo Emerson a century and a half ago - Masses are rude, lame, unmade, pernicious in their demands and influence, and need not to be flattered but to be schooled. I wish not to concede anything to them, but to tame, drill, divide and break them up, and draw individuals out of them. The worst of charity is that the lives you are asked to preserve are not worth preserving. Masses! the calamity is the masses. I do not wish any mass at all, but honest men only, lovely, sweet, accomplished women only, and no shovel-handed, narrow-brained, gin-drinking millions at all. If government knew how, I should like to see it check, not multiply the population. When it reaches its true law of action, every man that is born will be hailed as essential. Away with this hurrah of masses, and let us have the considerate vote of single men spoken on their honour and their conscience. In old Egypt it was established law that the vote of a prophet be reckoned equal to a hundred hands. I think it was much underestimated."
Only the individual is a concrete natural reality; the state is an artificial, abstract fabrication, an oversized herd, which is not an evolutionary move from the cooperative tribal association of independent individuals, but a degenerative one, directed towards uniformisation and dependence; and globalization is a further degenerative move, dedicated to the idea of world control and dominance through consumism, commerce and coercion, and rationalized with the absurd fallacy that the biological species Homo sapiens is in its entirety a natural ecological and social life-entity, placed onto the Earth by an anthropomorphous Deity created by the theomorphous man, with the proposition to "multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it", as it can be read in Moses' Genesis 2:27. Behind the actual globalizing movement hides an enormous expansionist national-commercial tendency.
Only decentralization, extensive education, qualitative evaluation of each person, and qualitative voting system, where the number of votes each citizen can cast is the function of his level of education, intelligence, culture, languages spoken and professional output, could produce a true and just social system that works, with the right men in leadership, who themselves are classified in the same manner. But just ask the uneducated and for considerate voting incompetent masses and the half-baked and for decision-making incompetent politicians, all thriving on each other's stupidity, to bring that about.
